Abstract (EN)

In addition to the developments in construction technologies in the construction sector, the change in the qualities that users expect from the product has accelerated the transition to large-scale projects with complex workflows during the construction phase. In spite of this change in building production standards, the fact that quality control in the construction sector is still carried out with existing techniques is a great handicap for the sector. Because the existing methods are inadequate in many points in quality control, which has gained a new dimension in this process, and the existing methods cause unforeseen problems both during the construction process and the usage phase. At this point, there is a need for an innovative quality assessment system that is based on technology. In order to meet this need, an integrated BIM-laser scanning system, which researchers have recently focused on, stands out. Today, BIM is mainly used in design and planning processes, and laser scanners are mainly used in measuring engineering. But the fact that BIM is a semantically rich data store and the ability of laser scanners to quickly and cost-effectively collect 3D data from the built environment has been the driving force behind the idea of an integrated BIM-laser scanner. Academic and commercial studies in this field have increased in recent years. The aim of this study is to investigate the level of awareness of the firms which working in the Turkish construction sector and employees about innovative quality control methods and to create an awareness in this field. The study was conducted in two stages. In the first stage, conventional quality control methods and innovative systems are investigated and explained with comprehensive literature data. In this part of the thesis, some of the current studies dealing with innovative systems are examined and explained to the study findings. When the studies are evaluated, it is determined that the system is very promising and open to development. In the second stage, the level of knowledge and intensity of use of the innovative methods of the sector employees were investigated with the help of a questionnaire prepared in the light of the literature data. The findings of the survey are presented in this section.
