Abstract (EN)

Automotive manufacturers should work to reduce their emission values in the vehicles they design to maintain their current market share and enter new markets. One of the important factors in reducing the emission value is to reduce the weight of the vehicle. Within the scope of this thesis, weight reduction methods are studied in the seat track mechanism used in the front seats in passenger cars of the M1 class. In a front seat, which has passed the ECE R14 and ECE R17 regulation tests and has been verified by the finite element model, a monobloc bracket design has been developed instead of the existing tracks link brackets. Its material has been determined to be a Double Phase steel (DP) and its geometry has been topography optimized. The final model was created by updating the design of the resulting model in terms of manufacturability. Finite element analyzes were performed according to the regulation conditions. The design was then verified by physical tests, including crash tests. Test and finite elements results are so close. 20% weight has been reduced in the part developed as a result of the study.
