Abstract (EN)
Elevator manufacturing, maintenance, and service activities are classified as "high-risk jobs," and workers in this field are exposed to dangerous working conditions. In this study, the monthly occupational health and safety (OHS) performance levels of an internationally operating elevator manufacturing-maintenance-service company in Turkey were evaluated using multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) methods. The aim is to determine the month with the highest OHS performance level, and to examine the OHS activities carried out during that month in order to continue the application in the same direction in future periods. Criteria that affect OHS performance were considered in the study, including total working time, cost of new personnel, duration of basic OHS training provided, duration of OHS reminder training provided, number of periodic inspections, number of tetanus vaccines administered, number of fatal work accidents, number of lost workdays, number of low-impact near-miss incident reports, number of medium-impact near-miss incident reports, and number of high-impact near-miss incident reports. The importance weights of these criteria were obtained using the Method based on the Removal Effects of Criteria (MEREC), and the ranking of months according to OHS performance levels was achieved using the Combined Compromise Solution (CoCoSo) method. The data used in the study represented the monthly OHS performance of the company for the year 2022. The study will provide an opportunity to evaluate the OHS performance levels of companies engaged in elevator manufacturing-maintenance-service activities or other sectors at designated intervals. Therefore, it will contribute to the determination of correct targets within the scope of OHS and the development of the existing OHS system by the company.
