An Aydınoğlu Emirate monument Selçuk Isa Bey Mosque architectural characteristics, restitution and conservation issues

İsa Bey Mosque, not only an important example of Anatolian Turkish architecture but also a prominent building of Emirates period, has an essential place in 14th century buildings with its' broad mosque interior and a courtyard with portico. The origin of the building is Syria, Emeviye Mosque being the first example. Long mosque scheme, which has been brought to tsa Bey Mosque via a Damascus!» architect, had been used with a wholly new approach of dimension. The place is believed to reflect time and place of tie period it interacted with, not only through its architecture, but also with its' decorative features. With the courtyard with portico, which acts as a new breath for usual mosque architecture of its' time, the character of newly styled facades and with its' double minarets, Isa Bey Mosque has been one of the most important factors of the foundation of the construction tradition of celattn mosques. Our study, which ignites with the evolution of conditions of -Western Anatolian Emirates Period, dwells on by touching the history and features of Ayctaoğlu Emirate, and pointing out distinctive features that Ayasulug embodies. The findings of our study clearly state that location is no way a matter of coincidence. The interaction of other buildings that are around the mosque, the recent conditions of those buildings, acted as an indicator for us to realise how integrated the buildings are nowadays.
