Abstract (EN)
Sales forecasting is a process of estimation of the demand for a good or service for upcoming periods with minimum error. Uncertainty that occurs in social, economic, political and technological fields also shows up in the fields firms are active. Due to uncertainties, fuzzy logic approach is developed in order to model these uncertainties in decision-making processes. In this study, two fuzzy logic modes of Tanaka – linear and quadratic – are used. These models are applied to past-sales data of the three products of a factory producing paper bags, and sales forecast ranges are obtained. Comparing these sales forecasts with actual demands of the related year, the best fitting model is tried to be determined.
