Abstract (EN)

The research focuses on whether 4th-grade students' reading of a text through digital material or printed material affects their fluent reading. The aim was to determine how much their fluent reading differs from a printed product according to research results. The research was conducted using the quantitative research model of the survey method. The students participating in the research are studying in the 4th grade of two different primary schools located in the Korgan district of Ordu province during the 2022-2023 academic year. Since it was not possible to reach the entire population of the research, a simple random sampling method was used to select the sample. During the data collection process, students were divided into 3 groups, and each group was given either a printed text, linear hypertext, or nonlinear hypertext to read. Afterwards, the students' reading speed, percentage of correct reading, and prosodic reading scores were calculated. The research found no significant difference in students' fluent reading skill scores (correct reading, reading speed, prosody) among different types of texts.
