Abstract (EN)

Energy demanding of Turkey is increasing every year. Also it has got limited energy sources. Due to this facts, Energy efficiency studies should be increased at industry and other energy consumption areas. Further more, Energy–rich countries have an unstable structure endangers the security of energy supply. Therefore, renewable energy sources and sustainable energy sources such as nuclear energy are needed. In this study, saving methods are proposed by analyzing energy and exergy in porcelain tableware firing kiln which is a branch of the ceramics industry. Energy consumption of the kiln has been calculated as 3868 kJ/s. Incoming energy is lost around % 14,78 by main exhaust flue gas and %28,58 by cooling exhaust gas. Therefore, the energy lost from the exhaust gases reaches %43,36. A total of %38,9 energy is lost from kiln walls, kiln temperature measurement points, kiln checking points and kiln cars. When the energy required for the glazed raw products to be porcelain as a result of physical and chemical transformations is compared to the total consumed energy, the kiln performance rises to %11. As a result, in the kiln analysis, suggestions were made on the processes with high energy losses and depreciation calculations were made.
