Abstract (EN)
Design museums have become a popular and widespread concept in the world. The design museum can be thought of as an environment where a designer will identify his identity, where he will feel like he is in the Disneyland of design, and he will be under the spell of design and at the same time rediscover the design and get new ideas. Not only designers will be influenced by the design museum but also the many parts of society because it is a reflection and record of society's preferences, cultural accumulation and historical consciousness. In this study, the formation process, existence and different characters of design museums will be analyzed. The layers that make up the design museum, the reformation of that layers with different combinations, and the principles that make each design museum unique will be evaluated together with their contents. By this way, the meaning of design museum will be better understood and it will be possible to have an interaction between museums, a road map for latter design museums. In fact, each design museum is a product to solve a different problem with its own dynamics and everyone has unique identity influenced by environment and culture. None of them can be considered far from their own sociocultural context and can not be separated from it. In this research, from a different perspective of a transdisciplinary design graduate, the design of the museum will be analyzed and Turkey's position towards design museum will be evaluated based on the findings.
