The effect of wine culture, as a tourism product, on bozcaada tourism

iiABSTRACTIn recent years, because of the changes on the structure of the word tourismdemand, many contries have decided to apply the tourism pruduct diversificationpolicies. Wine tourism is the one of these policies.Bozcaada has a very important potential for the wine tourism. Besides Ataol,Çamlıbağ and Talay companies producing wine for years Corvus is the fourth onestarted with last year. Generally they taste in their products at the same place. Alsoat many diffrent points on the island you can purchase wines.In wine tourism, visitation to vineyards, wineries, wine festivals and wineshows for which grape wine tasting and/or experiencing the attributes, of a grapewine region are the prime motivating factors for visitors. Thus, ?wine toursim? is,simultaneously a form of consumer behavior, a strategy by which destinationsdevelop and market wine-related attractions and imagery, and a marketingopportunity for wineries to educate, and to sell their products, directly to consumers.In this study, wine tourism as a tourism as a tourism product diversificationpolicy, has introduced, the wine tourism potential of Bozcaada has defined and somesuggestions have made in order to make use of this potential lucratively.
