Abstract (EN)

World?s increasing population, emission rates, decreasing and fading reserves of fossil fuels have arrised the need of searching non-emission, sustainable and renewable energy systems can solve 21st Century?s energy and enviromental problems and make world of future is livable. Many researchers and scientists report that the Hydrogen Energy Systems and Fuel cells are going to solve energy and environmental problems. Fuel Cells have incomparable advantages according to conventional energy systems. Fuel Cells work more efficiently and quietly and have no harmful product for nature and humans. Fuel cells use hydrogen as a fuel is abundantly available in structures of many compounds on the Earth. In this thesis, operation principles of fuel cells and specifications of hydrogen energy systems have been examined and applicability of this technology for power production using with renewable energy sources has been searched. In this study, two fotovoltaic cell-fuel cell systems, one has no hydrogen production and storage units inside and the other one is more advanced as including these units, have been designed. These designed systems have been modelled in Matlab/SIMULINK and their performances have been examined comparatively.Key Words: Hydrogen, Fuel Cell, Solar-Hydrogen System, Electrolysis
