Abstract (EN)

Decisions of individual investors are irrational due to psychological, personality factors and social factors when trading in financial markets. The investor makes conscious and unconscious decisions due to various factors. Behavioral finance is a field that has gained importance in recent years as it examines the investors' decision making process and the financial effect of these decisions due to rationality constraints. In this study, it is aimed to discuss the factors that are effective in the investment decision making process of individual investors in Adana Province. In the study, face-to-face survey method was applied to 338 investors. In the questionnaire, the frequency distributions and the distribution of the investors' behavioral tendencies were examined. In the other part where the survey results were evaluated, chi square method with crosstabs was applied and the relationship between gender and investment profile was examined. As a result, it seems that individual investors in Adana have a tendency towards behavioral tendencies, especially when they make investment decisions. There is a general relationship between gender and investment profile.
