Abstract (EN)

In this study, some mechanical properties of lightweight concrete produced by pumice were investigated experimentally. Pumice material was obtained from Bitlis Ahlat region. In this study, 11 different concretes were produced. These are in the first group, control concrete (100% crushed stone), second group control concrete, pumice concrete (100% pumice), third group crushed stone + pumice concrete (50%P50%CS, 60%P40%CS, 70%P30%CS), fourth group crushed stone + pumice + EPS concrete (50%P40%CS10%E, 60%P40%CS10%E, 70%P20%A10%E) and in the fifth group crushed stone + pumice + EPS + fibrous concrete. In the preparation of EPS concretes, the volume is fixed and the weight is variable. Fiber amount was used as 0,125% of cement weight. According to the test results, while compressive strength decreases in EPS and fiber doped concrete, increase in bending strength, decrease in water absorption amount and weight decrease under high temperature are observed. As a result, the most stable results in mechanical and physical behavior against compressive strength, two point loading bending behavior and high temperature were obtained from 50% pumice added concrete.
