Abstract (EN)

This study was prepared to examine the origin, mineralogical, petrological and geochemical properties of the prasinites and the amphibolites, which are contact rocks, cropping out in the southeast of Malatya and located in the Pütürge Metamorphite Massif. Metamorphic rock called metabasic or prasinite was founded in the study area with amphibolite and less micaschists or amphibolschists. Prasinites located in the form of scattered masses and lenses in the massif are mainly composed of magnesio-hornblende, actinolite, chermakite, plagioclase oligoclase and andesine (An14-48). Actinolite/actinolytic hornblende minerals are found in some prasinite samples. In the diagrams in which geochemical analyzes are evaluated, it is seen that amphibolites with tholeitic composition fall into the area of typical back-arc basin basalts, while prasinites fall into the area of tholeiitic island arc basalts. Most of the tholeiitic basalts differ from the back-arc basalts in that they have low levels of zircon, titanium and hafnium, which are the high field stress elements. It can said that metamorphism and geodynamics of the region are important in the petrological development of both rock types, and prasinites developed with the increase of plagioclase ratio in the melt after the formation of amphibolites.
