Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to (i) reveal the bioclimatic comfort areas related to the Discomfort Index (DI) in the province of Şanlıurfa with the help of the Geographical Information System (GIS), and (ii) Determine the relationship between bioclimatic comfort levels (DI) and air quality levels (AQI) in the central district of Şanlıurfa Dec. Annual and monthly average values of meteorological (temperature, relative humidity, wind Deceleration) and air pollutant parameters (for PM10 and SO2) between 2006 and 2021 were used for all analyses conducted in the study. In this context; meteorological parameters, air pollutant parameters, temporal changes of Dec and AQI parameters (for PM10 and SO2) were determined by Mann-Kendal trend analysis and the relationships between all these parameters were determined by Pearson correlation analysis. June September is the most suiÇizelge (21≤ DI≤ 24) months in terms of bioclimatic comfort in Şanlıurfa province. In Sanliurfa central district, annual and monthly average AQIPM10 values were generally in the "good" and "medium" class, while AQISO2 values were in the "good" class in all years and all months. While the annual average temperature values showed a statistically significant increase, the annual average wind speed, PM10 and AQIPM10 values showed a statistically significant decrease. There is a "weak" correlation between Dec and AQIPM10 in the negative direction (r = -0.028), and a "moderate" correlation between Dec and AQISO2 in the positive direction (r = 0.449; p<0.05). In addition, the correlations between Dec and PM10 and SO2 also showed significance at the level of p<0.05.
