Abstract (EN)

As the bulk density of biomass material is so low some difficulties occurred during storage, handling and usage of biomass material. In order to overcome these difficulties it is necessary to compress the biomass material for increasing the bulk density of them. Nowadays, in order to compression of biomass material pelleting machines find extensive usage for compression process. In order to obtain pellets with best quality by low energy consumption by means of pelletizing machine with high capacity, it is necessary to analyze all the parameters which affect the performance of the pellet machine. In Laboratory scale, simplified pelletizing apparatus are used for pelletizing and compression of biomass. However, studies conducted with simplified pelletizing apparatuses can not fully illustrate the data related of pelletizing of biomass material since the pelletizing process is done in an almost static environment and can not reveal the forces exerted by the pellet machine on the product. Therefore, in this work, a new type pelletizing test device has been developed in order to fully disclose the pelletizing process and to obtain reliable data for the design of a pellet machine. The pelletizing test for wood chip and olive cake has done by means of both of simplified and new type pelletizing test devices and the data obtained with the new type pellet tester give a more realistic result. The results have been proved by applying t- student test about the pelletizing data. In addition, in this study the mathematical modeling studies have been carried out by taking into account all the independent variables for selected biomass with the help of the obtained data.
