Abstract (EN)

Social anxiety disorder and fear of heights are disorders that significantly affect individuals daily lives and social interactions. While social anxiety disorder is characterized by excessive anxiety and avoidance behaviors experienced by individuals in social environments, fear of heights is manifested by intense fear and anxiety reactions that occur when encountering high places. The use of virtual reality technology in the treatment process allows simulating anxiety-inducing situations in a controlled and safe environment for both disorders. In this thesis, a comprehensive virtual reality system utilizing blockchain and machine learning technologies has been developed to support the treatment of social anxiety and fear of heights. The system consists of a web-based panel where therapists can manage their clients, two different applications developed for Meta Quest 2 virtual reality glasses, and an API that integrates these components. The first application is a 360-degree video-based exposure therapy application. The second application is a three-dimensional elevator simulation designed for the treatment of fear of heights. The integrity of client data is ensured using smart contracts developed on blockchain and IPFS protocol. In the system, a machine learning model is used to predict the outcome of the counseling process. The model was trained on a dataset of client data and the performance of different algorithms was compared to select the most appropriate model. This study presents an innovative approach to the treatment of social anxiety and fear of heights by combining virtual reality technology with blockchain and machine learning. The system provides therapists with a secure and effective platform to monitor the progress of their clients, while providing clients with the opportunity to face anxiety-inducing situations in a controlled environment.
