Abstract (EN)

Coating processes play an important role in determining the properties of the material. Different coating methods are used to improve the surface properties of the materials such as hardness, corrosion and wear resistance or to gather these properties together. One of these coating methods is friction surfacing method. The method is based on the principle of accumulation on the substrate material by reaching the plastic deformation temperature as a result of the contact of the consumable rod rotating around the axis to the substrate at a certain rotational speed. In this study, coating processes were made using two different methods. In the first method, a certain amount of coating powder is adhered to the substrate material surface, and then the material is coated by ensuring that the coating material is mixed with the surface of the substrate material by means of the consumable rod. In the second method, reinforcement and aluminum powders are mixed in various proportions, pressed into the consumable rod and sintered and coated gradiently on substrate surface. The effects of the test parameters on the mechanical properties were investigated. Microstructure, micro hardness and wear resistance were examined and bending tests of the obtained coatings were carried out. Microstructures were investigated with the help of optics, SEM, EDX and XRD. As a result of the study, it has been observed that some powder-free single-layer coatings have partial gaps at the interface of substrate and coating. It was observed that the adhesion surface between the substrate material and the coating of the samples made by the powder laying method was quite good, but a homogeneous coating structure was not formed. In powder reinforced gradient coatings, it was observed that the interlayer adhesion of the coating and the substrate was good and the transitions between the layers were good.
