Abstract (EN)

Our country has very rich boron reserves considering the boron reserves in the world. Not many studies can be found in the literature about using the Borax Pentahydrate. In this thesis, the Borax Pentahydrate, which contains %48-%49 boron, has been substituted for cement with different values of its weights of %5, %10, %15, %20 and %25 in the concrete. After having these different samples, the advantages and disadvantages of using these mixtures have been investigated experimentally. For this purpose, the mechanical and physical experimental studies have been done in order to determine the properties of water absorption, the specific gravity, surface hardness, the transition of sound speed, the effect of high temperature, the bending tension, the pressure strength and the radiation absorption in the concentrate. As a result of the experimental studies, it can be said that using the Borax Pentahydrate in the concrete increases the percentage of water absorption in the concrete, decreases the density and the pressure strength and enhances the property of radiation absorption.
