Abstract (EN)

In this study, the black pine (Pinus nigra Arnold) that naturally grows in our countryis impregnated and heat treated through dipping method by dissolving with borax and boric acid chemicals in various ratios widely used in many sectors and widely produced in our country. For this purpose, the test specimens prepared in accordance with the standards were impregnated in the dissolved % 1, % 3 and % 5 boron derivatives by dipping for 48 hours and then heat treated at 150, 170, 190 and 210 °C for 3 hours under the normal atmosphere in the heat treatment furnace. On the obtained test specimens, variations in air-dried density, bending strength, modulus of elasticity in bending, compressive strengthparallel to grainand volumetric swelling values were investigated. According to the the results, as the heat treatment temperature increased, the decreases in the values of air dried density, bending strengthand modulus of elasticity in bending, compressive strength parallel to grain and volumetric swell were observed. The physical and mechanical properties of the samples impregnated with borax and boric acid solutions varied considerably, with the most physical and mechanical changes being observed in the samples heat treated at 210 °C and the lowest variations were observed in the samples heat treated at 150 °C.
