Abstract (EN)
In this master's thesis study, structural elements, geological setting and metamorphism of the metamorphic rocks located around Budağan Mount, were investigated. İkibaşlı Formation, which is composed of chlorite, sericite-quartz and chloritoid schists and deposited during the Middle-Upper Triassic period, lies at the stratigraphical basis of the study area. A conglomerate level consisting of marble, quartz and schist pebbles belonging to the pre-Mesozoic period is observed at the base levels of the formation. The rocks of the unit conformably pass to the Budagan Limestone (Jurassic) unit. These two formations are tectonically overlain by Dağardı Melange (Upper Cretaceous). The tectonic emplacement of the nappes of the melange in the study area led to the development of secondary deformation structures such as lineation, foliation and folding in the metaclastics of the İkibaşlı Formation, and this associated deformation phase was defined as D1. The kinematic markers associated with the D1 phase are linear fabrics, intra-folial folds, asymmetrically deformed pebbles and δ-type prophyroclasts in the oriented thin sections. As a result of the examination of all the kinematic indicators obtained, it was determined that the nappes belonging to the Dağardı Melange were transported towards the northwest over the İkibaşlı Formation. After the D1 deformation phase, the D2 deformation phase became active in the Neotectonic period in the region and cut the structures belonging to the D1 phase.
