Abstract (EN)

Determining core competencies is a critical process for businesses to sustain their existence and gain competitive advantage. The fact that businesses have a strong position in the market and demonstrate sustainable success is directly related to the identification of their core competencies and how effectively they adapt to these competencies. What these core competencies are, as well as how important these competencies are for businesses, is also a determining factor. This study aims to identify core competencies and prioritize these competencies within the business. In this way, the human resources manager of any business can make effective decisions in a new recruitment process by considering these core competencies, which can have a positive impact on the overall business and employee performance of the businesses. Although multi-criteria decision-making methods, especially the fuzzy AHP method, have found a place in the literature, there is not enough research on these methods to determine core competencies. This research aims to fill the gap in the literature. According to the results of the study, all of the core competencies determined for businesses were accepted as important competencies that should be taken into account in the process. In particular, customer satisfaction competency has been determined as the most important among these core competencies and it has been suggested that businesses develop their strategies around this core competency.
