Abstract (EN)
Software Defined Networking (SDN), an emerging computer networking architecture, has recently become a popular area for both academic and commercial usage. In SDN technology, control plane and data plane are separated from each other, centralization and customization of control plane functions are provided. Thanks to this, routing protocols spesific to Internet applications can be designed. Today, video traffic is an important part of the Internet traffic. In video streaming applications, it is possible to use data centers or utilize a peer-to-peer network to reduce the load on servers and provide scaling.. The this thesis, video streaming systems that utilize SDN technology and cloud computing data center has been designed. For this purpose, end-to-end and peer-to-peer video streaming systems have been studied. It has been observed that proposed data center routing, intra-ISP routing and data center usage approaches provide an improvement in the video streaming client experience performance.
