Abstract (EN)
Immediate changes on vital function of the patients can facilitate effective intervention for emergencies, as well as facilitating the diagnosis of untreated diseases. Patient Monitoring Systems (PMS) is a clinical method that is used to control the evaluation processes of the treatment, tracking diseases and to analyze the periodic and continuous changes in vital functions. Whereas the PMS is offered as wearable technology for adults, pediatric newborn infants are offered as integrated modules in incubator systems. The aim of the thesis is developing a pediatric PMS that allows controlling the incubator, monitoring of the condition of the newborn with various sensors and proposing an integrable smart module for traditional incubators. It is designed as a LattePanda-based system that allows saving real-time measurements of temperature, humidity, air quality and more on the server and enables monitoring capability for medical personnel including doctors and nurses. By the virtue of the designed fiber incubator, a portable system with light weight was developed. The baby is able to control the state of being awake and asleep, and a patient-based RFID system for safe identification and recording of diseases has been established using sensors. The video streaming of the babies from the incubator was broadcasted instantly accessible for the parents and healthcare personnel. The temperature and humidity metrics in the incubator can be set remotely. In case of exceeding the intervals determined in vital function, audible and visual warning is send to the PMS. The LattePanda-based embedded system has been operative by adding to the designed fiber incubator. The system is designed in ergonomics, which can be also integrated into classic incubator models at the same time. The most important feature of the designed smart incubator in market is that it is a system that allows monitoring a large number of incubators in a PMS center for the health facilities without adequate healthcare personnel. This feature will provide great benefits to the medical staff for immediate and urgent interventions.
