Abstract (EN)
In this study, it was aimed to determine the species of sandfly and to reveal the seasonal population dynamics in Burdur. For this purpose, sand fly samples were collected by using light traps in 17 stations in Burdur. In the laboratory collected samples were identified in species level and community parameters were calculated. As a result of the study, 12 species belonging to two genera have been identified. Phlebotomus kandelakii sensu lato Shchurenkova, 1929 was the most abundant taxon while the taxon determined in lowest number was Phlebotomus halepensis Theodor, 1958. The number of species and abundance values of the species were found to be high in the areas where animal husbandry was intense and no vector control studies were performed. Captured species are potential vectors that carry the diseases of Cutaneous leishmaniasis (CL), Visceral leishmaniasis (VL) and Canine leishmaniasis (CanL). This thesis study is important for evaluating the prevalence of the diseases in the following years.
