Rare earth element contents, geochemistry and origin of between burdur and Isparta region

Abstract (EN)

In this study, rare earth element contents and geochemistry of samples taken from five different locations situated in the area between Burdur and Isparta were studied. The resulting data, genetic relationships of samples and the similarities between their locations were evaluated with statistical methods. From study area situated between Burdur and Isparta; Çanaklı Village (19 samples), Çobanisa Village (34 samples), Kuyubaşı Village (17 samples), Kuzca Village (17 samples) ve Yılanlı Village (17 samples) in total 104 samples were collected. The average concentration of the collected samples are, respectively; Çobanisa (821.88 ppm)> Serpentine (723.39 ppm)> Kuzca (692.54 ppm)> Canakli (583.46 ppm)> Kuyubaşı (484.04 ppm). Rare earth element concentrations of samples from all locations, are more than the Earth's crust. Also, as well as rare earths, radioactive Th and U concentrations in these regions are high. Chondrite normalized rare earth element diagram shows that rare earth element distributions of these locations are very similar and it means that they came from a common origin of the samples. It is thought that resource of samples which content unconsolidated tuff is Gölcük Volcano located in in the northwest region. Furthermore, it is said that weathering is one of the factors affecting rare earth element enrichment.
