Evaluation of active green areas in Bursa province Mudanyadistrict in terms of landscape architecture

Rapid and unplanned urbanization with increasing population has resulted in ignoring green areas, which are an indispensable part of life in urban life. However, people constantly search for these areas where their ancestors lived in the past where they will rest physically and spiritually throughout their life. Today, active green areas, which are squeezed into very narrow areas in many cities, exhibit inadequate service quality. Establishing the active green areas to be planned according to the criteria determined in terms of quality and quantity will make the use of such areas and the service quality they produce more meaningful. Our study was carried out on active green areas in Mudanya district, each area was examined within the framework of various criteria in terms of landscape architecture. The suitability levels of the active green areas , effective service areas, distribution of landscape plants, reinforcement elements, etc. examined in the research area, and some suggestions were made for these areas to be more effective and functional. As a result of the evaluations made in terms of active green area suitability resulted in 4 neighborhood parks, 10 children's playgrounds and 2 sports areas in the lowest class, 17 neighborhood parks, 26 children's playgrounds and 9 sports areas in the low class, 31 neighborhood parks, 14 children's playgrounds in Mudanya district and 9 sports fields in the middle class, 9 neighborhood parks and 1 children's playground in the higher class. It has been revealed that neighborhood parks have 43.69%, children's playgrounds 31.71% and sports areas 26.19%.
