Poverty survey of rural residents in Orhaneli district of Bursa province

Abstract (EN)

Poverty is one of the fundamental problems of the nations. The concept of poverty is open to debate, but it is widely used to express the living standards of the individual and society. Societies that develop and implement policies to combat poverty are those with a higher level of welfare. Societies that ignore this issue are unwittingly forced to deal with many problems that are the result of poverty. There are more than one type of poverty and different policy instruments are applied for each type of poverty. The aim of this study is to determine the poverty levels and perceptions of the individuals living in Orhaneli district of Bursa province. Nine arguments were determined within the scope of the research, and T-test, Anova, correlation and regression analyses were performed using SPSS 25.0 package program. Analysis of the analysis results showed that individuals' perceptions of poverty vary according to their education level, and there is a positive relationship between poverty perception and household poverty. In addition, it was observed that there was a negative relationship between farmers' annual agricultural income levels and their perceptions of organic / good agriculture practices.
