Abstract (EN)
It is a well known fact that the alphabet of Holy Qur'an is the universal alphabet of Islamic communities. The Ottomans put a considerable and remarkable efforts to develop and signify this alphabet. These efforts evolved into the alphabet being considered as a medium of art. The following saying concludes this evolution "The Qur'an was revealed in Hicaz, read in Egypt and written in İstanbul." This work is a detailed summary of Bursa Foundation Culture Museum Calligraphy tablets. All the calligraphy tablets were stored as photographs and identified with information sheets. The information sheets cover the readings, explanations, periods, calligraphs, sizes, illumination techniques, decorations and production specifications. The study covers 77 calligraphy tablets dated between 18th and 20th centuries.
