Abstract (EN)

VI ABSTRACT Total Quality management is management approach of an organization, centred on quality, based on the participation of all its members and aiming at long term success through customer satisfaction and benefits to all members of the organisation and to society. Total quality management applies to all levels and all functions of an organisation. It is certainly not the exclusive domain of the quality department. The concept of quality in the total quality management contest is that it applies to all managerial objectives. Quality of service to the customer, quality of training for their labour, quality of planning for processes and desingn for product and services etc The implementation of total quality management requires the development of a high commitment employee relations strategy and involves an attempt build a culture of continuous improvement among employess. Because, without the involvement of makers in the decisions making and judgment- making process quality could not ve created because process lacked that geneune human dimension. There is in consequence a need to win employee commitment to the goals of quality and flexibility. Hence, total quality management requires multiskiUed labour. In addition, new relationship between management and labour emphasizes cooperation rather than advertisity, flexibility rather than rigidity. In this context, total quality management has changed work relationships. Labour- management cooperation is the key ingredient in the success of any total quality management One of aims of a total quality management programme may be to change the labour- management relationships, a move from "them and us" to 'us'. Individuvization of employment relations involving individualized bargaining, personalized contracts has evident. Trade unions is affected this developments.vıı Total quality management can be seen as an attempt to marginalize the trade unions.
