Abstract (EN)

In this research, which was conducted to reveal the socio-economic structures and financial resources of large-scale agricultural enterprises that continue their agricultural activities in Ceyhan, Yumurtalık and Karataş Districts of Adana Province, face-to-face individual interviews were held with 90 agricultural enterprises. According to the results of the field research covering 2021, the average amount of land cultivated by producers is 719; It has been determined that they mainly grow corn. The tendency to cultivate property land, which is generally high in Turkey, is not the case for the enterprises in the research area, and property, rent, treasury land and common shares are 50.9%, 22.9%, 15.4% and 10.9%, respectively. has been found. It has been determined that the education levels of business owners, which are generally concentrated at primary and secondary education levels in Turkey, are quite high in the research area. It has been determined that public banks and Agricultural Credit Cooperatives come first in the loan preferences of the interviewed business owners, and that there are no situations such as postponement or inability to pay the loans that businesses mostly use. Although businesses spend most of their agricultural income, approximately 51-70%, on agricultural activity expenses, they aim to diversify product patterns, use high-tech modern equipment, and achieve high yields by saving both time and labor. The main suggestions that can be made as a result of the research can be summarized as bulk purchasing to control and reduce costs, raising farmers' awareness about climate change and the use of modern irrigation methods, diversifying product ranges and expanding agricultural insurance.
