Abstract (EN)

In this study, the resistance forces and energy consumption encountered by a chain-type manure scraper system in a dairy cattle facility were analyzed through both experimental and numerical methods. In the experimental phase, force and power values were recorded using load cells. For numerical simulations, the Discrete Element Method (DEM) was applied using Ansys Rocky DEM 2024 software, and slurry manure behavior was modeled via the Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) method. Simulation and experimental results were compared to assess the system's performance under gradually increasing load conditions. The deviation between measured and simulated force values ranged from 4.6% to 6.28%. Findings suggest that DEM-based modeling offers a reliable framework for the design and optimization of manure scraper systems in livestock facilities.
