Comparison of Sunni-Siah tafsir in the contemporary period (Samples of Menâr and Mîzân tafsir)

Religion exists for people. It is natural for believers to develop some methods in order to better understand their religion and books, to identify the purpose and to seek solutions to the problems they face. In this study, Abduh-Reşid Rızâ's tafsir named Tefsîru'l-menâr and Tabâtabâî's tafsir named al-Mîzân fî tafsîri'l-Qur'an are compared in terms of 'ulumu'l-Qur'an' and some tafsir problems. The study consists of introduction and three chapters. In the introduction part, the purpose, method and scope of the study are specified. In the first chapter, the lives of Abduh-Reşid Rızâ and Tabâtabâî, Menâr and Mîzân tafsirs are introduced and Mîzân tafsir is discussed in more detail. In the second chapter, the titles of ulumu'l-Qur'an are discussed, and the titles have been determined by taking into consideration the subjects that the commentators give priority. After briefly mentioning how the titles / topics addressed are discussed in Islamic thought, comparisons have been made by giving the views of three scholars. In the third part, while explaining how the communicators explain the relationship between reason and religion, sects and women, it is tried to be determined how the sectarian preferences affect their thought on the titles of imamate, the being a messenger of God, custody and mut'ah marriage (temporary marriage).
