Examining the relationship between employees' career satisfaction, self efficacy levels and career anchors

Abstract (EN)
The main purpose of this study was to examine whether there is a significant relationship between career satisfaction, self-efficacy levels and career anchors of employees. Relational correlational survey method was used to examine the relationship between study variables and the relationship between each variable and demographic variables. The sample of the study consisted of 306 people working in an automotive company operating in Bursa. Personal Information Form, Career Satisfaction Scale, General Self-Efficacy Scale and Career Anchors Scale were applied to the participants. In order to answer the research questions; one-way ANOVA, independent sample t-test, Kruskal Wallis test,and Pearson Correlation analyzes were performed in SPSS 25.0 package program in data analysis. The results showed low positive and significant relationships between self-efficacy and career satisfaction, and between self-efficacy and career anchors. It was observed that the relationship between career satisfaction and career anchors was weakly positive, but not at a significant level. It was observed that the scores obtained from the career satisfaction, self-efficacy and career scales did not differ significantly according to gender and graduated field. Career satisfaction scores showed a significant difference according to age; however, self-efficacy and career anchor scores did not differ significantly according to age. Only career satisfaction scores differed significantly according to task focus. On the other hand, self-efficacy and career anchor scores did not differ significantly according to years of experience in the organization, but career satisfaction differed significantly according to years of experience in the organization. Moreover, it was observed that career satisfaction, self-efficacy and career anchor scores did not differ significantly according to monthly income. The findings and limitations of the study were discussed according to the relevant literature and suggestions for future studies were presented.
