Abstract (EN)

The animal figures which were produced in (:anakkale between the end of the19th century to the first decade of the 20th century, own a special place among theAnatolian pottery works. These pieces were shaped in hands of masters, influenced by(:anakkale's geological condition, its cultural background and also the era's effects.Besides the large variety of animal forms, due to their naive creations and theircharacteristic postures, these ceramic vessels are to be considered as sculptures ratherthan ceramic pieces which generally also can be used functional. With their exaggeratedfonns and energetic expressions, (:anakkale Pottery Animal Forms are unique pieceswhich can serve as a source of inspiration for the artists.
