Abstract (EN)

In this study, the effects of impinging jet's triangular jet holes orientations on different target plate material's heat transfer performance are numerically investigated. These numerical analyses were performed using Ansys Fluent version 19.2 and the turbulence model used in the analyses is the SST k-ω turbulence model. In this thesis, firstly, general information about the impinging jets is given. Afterwards, the studies in the literature are discussed and the contribution of this study to the literature is examined. In the third part of the study, mathematical calculations used in numerical analysis, turbulence model used in analysis, mesh independence, verification of analysis and solution steps are given. In the fourth part of the thesis, the analysis findings are stated according to different Re numbers, different jet plate types and different target plate materials. In the last section, the conclusions drawn from this study are examined. It was observed that the triangular jet angles did not cause a change on the average Nu number on the target plate, but caused a considerable change on the local Nu numbers, and the highest Nu numbers were obtained in the copper and aluminium target plate materials.
