Abstract (EN)

Aim: In this study, it is aimed to increase the quality of the bone obtained by minimizing the bone resorption that will occur after tooth extraction and to help determine the method that can be an alternative to the gold standard autogenous bone. Material and Method: 14 men and 13 women between the ages of 18-65, without systemic disease, caries, trauma, etc. were included in the study. A total of 58 extraction sockets were included in 27 patients with tooth extraction indication due to various reasons. In these patients, after tooth extraction, 27 sockets were filled with small pieces of T-PRF, and one piece of T-PRF was capped and left to heal. 31 sockets were left to heal spontaneously after tooth extraction. CBCT was taken 1 week after the procedure. CBCT was taken again before the implant procedure at the 3rd month after tooth extraction. With the volumetric evaluations made on CBCT, the postoperative extraction socket volume and the socket volume filled with bone at the end of the 3rd month were compared. Results: According to t-test results in independent groups, initial extraction socket volume measurement did not differ significantly between test and control groups, while non-ossified socket volume measurement at 3 months differed significantly between test and control groups (P<0.05). The mean 3rd month measurement of the control group was found to be 0.087cm3, while in the T PRF group it was found to be 0.043cm3 on average. The result we get from here is; In the 3rd month non-ossifying socket volume measurements, the control group was significantly higher than the test group. The significance of the difference between the baseline and 3rd month measurement averages in the control group and T-PRF group was examined with the t test in the dependent groups. There was a significant difference between the baseline and 3rd month measurements in the control and T-PRF groups, and the initial measurements were significantly higher than the 3rd month measurements. Conclusion: As a result of this study, we observed that the patient group in which T-PRF was used in socket preservation application had more bone gain in the extraction socket than the patient group left to physiological recovery. Key Words: Socket protection, Tooth extraction, T-TZF
