Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to investigate effects of acidity on in vitro polen germination and tube length of Cerasus avium L. and Cerasus vulgaris Miller plants.Pollens of Cerasus avium L. and Cerasus vulgaris Miller flowers have been exposed the effect of artificial acid solutions in order to pH 6.2, 6.0, 5.8, 5.6, 5.4, 5.2, 5.0, 4.8, 4.4, 4.2, 4.0, 3.8, 3.6, 3.4, 3.2, 3.0, 2.8. Brawbaker Kwack medium was used for pollen germination. According to the results obtained, germination rate and pollen tube length for each plant at least has been affected at pH 6.2. Pollen germination and tube length decreased high rate with increasing acidity . The decrease of in these rates were calculated % 97.98 for Cerasus avium L. pollen germination and % 99.11 for tube length; %98.77 for Cerasus vulgaris Miller pollen germination and %96.31 for tube length at pH 2.8.
