Abstract (EN)

Coumarins, heterocyclic compounds having oxygen, occur naturally in a number of plants. They are isolated from various plants or obtained synthetically, in the commercial uses. Coumarin derivatives are especially important in medicine due to variety of biological activity. Furthermore, their applications range in perfume, food, plastic and dye industries. Chalcones are natural or synthetic compounds belonging to the flavonoid family. Chemically, they consist of two aromatic rings are joined by a three-carbon α, β-unsaturated system. Both extracted from plants and chemical synthesized most chalcone derivatives have largely biologically active. Therefore, many investigations have been done on the chalcone derivatives. In this study, we synthesized 3-acetylcoumarin, which is going to be used for synthesis of chalcone, with traditional method and ultra sonic vibration. In the second step this coumarin compound reacted with benzaldehyde derivatives and three different catalysts. The five desired chalcone derivatives were obtained in %40-92 yields after 2-5 hours reaction time.
