Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, it is aimed to determine the effects of some antiseptic solutions and disinfectants, which are commonly used in hospitals, on gram negative and gram positive bacteria that show multi drug resistance. In this study a total of 11 clinical isolate bacteria samples presenting multi drug resistance such as Esherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Acinetobacter baumannii, Enterobacter aerogenes, Serratia odorifena, Proteus vulgaris, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Staphylococcus aureus MRSA, Staphylococcus aureus MRSA + MDR, Providencia rustigiannii and Achromobacter sp. and solutions used as environment, medical instruments and device disinfectants in hospitals such as Babiclear (Antiseptic Liquid Soap), Detro OPA, Germocid, Babicoole (Alcohol Based Rapid Surface Disinfectant) and Hibitanol solution were used. In order to determine the lowest concentration of chemical disinfectants that inhibit bacterial growth, minimum inhibition concentration (MIC) values were determined by liquid dilution method. As a result, while chlorhexidine gluconate and alcohol containing solutions were observed to be highly effective on bacteria, it was observed that chemicals containing especially soluble enzymes (lipase, protease, amylase and carbohydrase) had lower effect than other solutions.
