Abstract (EN)
In this research, the concepts of serious leisure and jazz music are approached together. This study defends that leisure has a massive role for all music participants -amateur, semi-professional, and professional musicians and listeners- in terms of performance, music participation, production, and music consumption -especially jazz. The uniting characteristic of jazz is thought with the notion of musicking, and within this concept, all the music participants -including performers and listeners- were tried to be understood together. Furthermore, jazz music in Turkey has been approached as a serious leisure activity due to economic and spatial reasons.
