Abstract (EN)

Rapidly increasing population, industrialization and urbanization, and people's unconscious use of nature have led to the destruction or destruction of many natural and cultural riches in our country, as well as all over the world. It is very important that these elements, which are our greatest natural and cultural wealth, are used sustainably and transferred to future generations. Türkiye has world-class natural and cultural riches due to its geographical location. While some of these riches have been protected in various ways and are the scene of planned tourism activities, most of them are unprotected or not sufficiently protected. Cilo and Sat Mountains were declared as a national park with the name "Hakkari Cilo and Sat Mountains National Park" by the President's decision no. 3017, in accordance with Article 3 of the National Parks Law No. 2873, on September 25, 2020. This national park, which has an area of 275 km², has become the 45th national park of Turkey. In this study, first of all, the study area was determined as the Cilo and Sat Mountains National Park area. Geographic features (Geology, Geomorphology, Climate, Hydrography, Glacial and Biogeography) in the study area were examined. Depending on these features, the geographical elements (peak, glacier, cirque, valley, stream, lake, soil and vegetation) have been identified and the sustainable use of these elements; analyzed geographically.
