Abstract (EN)

In this study, the microstructure of Zn-Al based alloy produced with pressure casting method was examined by electron microscopy (EM). Together with scanning electron microscope (SEM) images and energy dispersive X-Ray analysis (EDX) spectra. The microstructure alloys and the elements constituting of the alloys were analyzed by using bright field and dark field images of transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and selected area diffraction (SAD) patterns showed that the microstructure of Zn-%2Al alloy is comprised of grains with different sizes and different tendency relations. The observations showed that the elements of Al and Zn have different concentrations in the structure. Some studies on aluminum based alloys showed that these alloys are the results of eutectic and dendritic solidifications and they agree with the conclusions of this study. SEM analyses of Al-Zn alloy samples indicated that there are two different colored phase regions. EDX was used to determine the elements of those different phases of the regions according to the EDX analysis it was found that the aluminum rich region has ?-Al phase and zinc rich region has ß-Zn phase.
