Investigation of the amount of organic matter, plant nutrients and solid matter carried into the lake by the streams pouring into the Cip Dam Lake

In this thesis, the amount of organic matter, plant nutrients and solid matter carried into the lake by the streams pouring into the Cip Dam Lake were investigated. For this purpose water samples were collected at monthly intervals for a period of six months between January 2022-June 2022. pH, water temperature, electrical conductivity, dissolved oxygen and flow were measured directly in study area whilst chemical analysis such as total dissolved solids, orthophosphate, total phosphorus, total nitrogen, sulfate, silica, nitrite, nitrate, ammonium, chloride, total organic carbon and chemical oxygen demand were carried out in laboratory by means of cell test through a spectrophotometer. Salinity, organic matter, total hardness and total alkalinity were determined in accordance with methods. According to the Water Pollution Control Regulation for Inland Water Resources, study results showed that there is an organic pollution in the Cip and Seli streams pouring into the Cip Dam Lake.
