Abstract (EN)

While lullabies carry the characteristics of the region they belong to, they also develop through the inspiration of the woman's (mother's) life. Lullabies covering different subjects in each region are sung in different styles and performed in different languages. In the Cizre district of Şırnak province, where I conducted this research, the tradition of singing lullabies, defined as Lorî, Lorîk, Lorîn, is mostly carried out by women, but there are also lullabies sung by men (from the father's side), albeit a few. This study aims to reveal the diversity of lullabies in Cizre region, where the tradition of singing lullabies continues despite today's conditions where living conditions have changed due to various social, cultural, economic and political reasons and traditional culture has weakened due to the factors shaping the modern age. This study, in addition, aims to reveal the elements of the musical culture of the Cizre region, as well as the socio-cultural position and importance of women. It is also important from an ethnomusicological point of view to perform musical analyzes of lullabies within the framework of traditional elements that reflect the lifestyle and language of that society, which are the key to understanding a society.
