Abstract (EN)
The characters of the infinite symmetric group were described by E. Thoma in 1964. E. Thoma's proof was difficult. Later, A. Okounkov found another proof based on the works of G. I. Olshanski. In thesis, we work out the details of A. Okounkov's proof. Related part of the work of G. I. Olshanski are either explained or given references.
