Abstract (EN)
The aim of this thesis study was to evaluate the efficacy of anterior tooth movement in patients treated with ClearCorrect clear aligners. The pre- and posttreatment digital orthodontic models of 20 patients, treated in Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University, Department of Orthodontics composed the study materials. The superimposition of pre- and posttreatment digital orthodontic models and the measurements were performed using GOM Inspect (GOM, 2018, Braunschweig, Germany) software. The angular tooth movements such as angulation, inclination and rotation, and linear tooth movements such as intrusion, extrusion, mesiodistal translation and buccolingual translation were evaluated for maxillary and mandibular central, lateral and canines. The differences between the tooth movements measured from the pre- and posttreatment digital orthodontic models were recorded as achieved tooth movement. The predicted tooth movement was obtained from ClearCorrect Doctor portal. Mann-Whitney U test was used in the comparison of achieved and predicted tooth movements since the variables is not normally distrubuted. In the maxilla, the highest and lowest accuracy pergentages were found in angulation (83%, %90, %85) and extrusion (83%, %90, %85) movements for the central, lateral and canine teeth, respectively. In the mandibula, the highest accuracy percentage was observed in angulation movement for the incisor (%82) and canine (%80) teeth. The lowest accuracy percentage was determined as intrusion moovement in the incisor teeth (%56) and, as inclination movement in the canine teeth (%56). It was concluded that extrusion of incisors and canines in the maxilla and intrusion of incisors and inclination of canines in the mandible, are difficult tooth movements.
