Abstract (EN)
Hybrid Photo Diodes (HPDs) were used as photodetectors in the HE sub-calorimeter of the CMS - HCAL. Replacing them with SiPMs is under consideration. High energy radiation damages the photodetectors. The effect of this damage on jet reconstruction is simulated with Scenario-2017 (using HPDs) and Scenario-2019 (using SiPMs) in HE sub-calorimeter of CMS-HCAL. The amount of radiation damage at the luminosity values they will be exposed to and the needed correction in the jet reconstruction are calculated. For HE, in both scenarios, optimal calorimeter tower thresholds are determined with different luminosities and jet energies.
