Abstract (EN)
ABSTRACT Master Thesis THE EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION OF THE HEAT GENERATION ON THE TOOL NOSE DURING CHIP REMOVING ON CNC TURNING MACHINE Faruk KARACA Firat University Graduate School of Science Department of Mechanical Education 2004, Page : 90 In the competition world as a result of technological developments, it was needed that making good quality most cheaply and quickly. With the ever increasing cutting speeds used in modem machining operations the thermal aspect of cutting become more and more important. Determination of the temperatures in the removing metal during orthogonal machining has been the subject of many investigations. The rate of energy consumed during machining is converted into heat in the two main regions of plastic deformation in the chip around the so called shear plane and the tool-chip interface. During chip formation,, one of the more important factor that affect this formation by the direct or indirect way is temperature. Temperature rises in the main two zones, and primarily deformed the chip then result wear. On the other hand, one of the other important parameter that influence of productivity of every industry., involved in metal cutting, is the behavior of wear of the cutting tools. Heat generation at the nose of the cutting tool has become a problem of increasing importance in modern automated machining operations. In this thesis, the effect of the generated heat on the tool wear and surface quality during machining has been researched. The experimental study is carried out different cutting tools and cutting conditions. Appropriate cutting parameters are explained dependent upon the experimental results.
