Abstract (EN)
In this study, it was aimed to evaluate the living conditions of seasonal migrant agricultural workers' middle school-aged children, in the context of children's rights. The research was carried out with middle school-aged children of families working as seasonal migrant agricultural workers in Turgutlu district of Manisa. Data were collected from the universe using the unsampled whole count method. The children of 85 seasonal itinerant agricultural workers have agreed to participate in the study. The data were collected between June and August 2021 based on the quantitative and general screening model. The questionnaire prepared by the researcher constitutes the data collection tools of the research. The research data were collected by face-to-face interview technique with the participants. The collected data were analyzed in the SPSS 15.0 package program using the Chi-Square (x2) test. In this study, it was determined that the younger participants were less likely to go to school in their place of residence than the older participants, and the older participants were more likely to work as seasonal migrant agricultural workers than the younger participants. It has been determined that the rate of going to school is higher in the participants whose fathers are literate, and the number of siblings of the children of seasonal migrant agricultural workers whose mothers are illiterate. In this study, it was observed that the girls of seasonal migratory agricultural workers were more likely to do housework in the tent settlement they stayed in than boys. When the living conditions of the children of seasonal migrant agricultural workers are evaluated; It has emerged that these children do not have their rights linked to vital, protection rights, development and participation rights at their full capacity and exposed to neglect and abuse that prevent them from having these rights and that these children will not be able to fully access their rights unless these risks are eliminated.
