Abstract (EN)

The aim of this research is to reveal how many of the 18 values in the Social Studies course are included in the children's novels named Changing Loves, My Mother My Mother, Karadaylak, Children's War, written by Afet Ilgaz. Document analysis technique, one of the qualitative research methods, was used in the research. In this context, the necessary information about Social Studies, Value, Value Education and Afet Ilgaz was collected, the books subject to the research were obtained and the necessary examinations were made. According to the analysis of the results; It was determined which values were most frequently mentioned in the books, which values were least frequently mentioned, and which values were not found at all in the books, and it was determined to what extent the children's books contained the values of the Social Studies course. Subsequently, the results were compared with previous similar studies and their similarities and differences were revealed. Thus, the place and importance of the study in the literature was revealed. Another result reached by the study is to determine which topics and values teaching children's books can be preferred in teaching Social Studies course.
